Synergy

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=113153

Ok, sometimes I'm too lazy, or simply don't have enough time to search in order to find new items for my next treasury. But I love making treasuries. So, often I go to the shops of the Jet & McEtsy teams I'm in & pick something I like there or something that fits the theme. Recently, for the first time in about half a year, I began using Pounce feature on Etsy again in order to find items for my treasuries. It has a choice of Undiscovered/Just Sold. This treasury was made with some items using this feature & featuring sellers who haven't yet had any sales on Etsy and/or have recently joined. Plus, some new items from my 'old' favourites. & While I like finding new items & sellers and making a treasury with lots of 'fresh' talent, it got me thinking - what about those that only had a sale or two? Their shops would not show up in Pounce & it would be much harder to find them on Etsy if not searching the particular thing they're making/selling. More often than not, it's hard for people to start an online shop & get some exposure for it & get it 'off the ground' - I would not say that my own shop is 'off the ground' yet! & this is something that Etsy is failing at - giving equal & regular exposure and promotion to all its sellers. They seem to strive for a certain aesthetic, a brand, but for a site that is supposedly promotes handmade it fails to realise that handmade is not just one aesthetic, it's not just one fashion, one trend - it's a community (however un-uniformed) & in a community every member has to have a voice & some attention. Not least because each seller tries to promote their Etsy shop wherever they can & by extent Etsy itself, so it doesn't seem that much to ask that Etsy promotes its sellers in return. Does it?

Featured - Rachel Lucie

Rachel has a unique flair for combining gemstones, shapes and colours so as to showcase each one of them in the best light. Designs are often fairly minimal with just a few carefully selected gems, but they have an amazing impact. They are full of life and colour and will rival any high end designer piece. In fact, they are way better as each design and choice is given a careful consideration, only the best stones and metals are chosen and each piece is created by Rachel's hand right here in the UK.

June

With May almost half-way through I keep on thinking about June - in our family it was always a month of birthdays, including mine, so, maybe, that's why the things that I associate with June took over head and dictated this treasury. Cherries, strawberries, the abundance of blue skies and swifts flying by, oh, yeah, and more cherries!

Purple

Just back from a great, long Easter weekend during which the weather behaved itself surprisingly well and we've had some really great time. I did miss treasuries (just a bit ;D) and was lucky to catch one today. A purple themed one has been on my mind for quite some time, as it's the favourite colour of both my mother and my mother-in-law. So, with the Mother's Day approaching in USA, it seems quite appropriate.

New Treasury - Hello Today

This is the first time I got a treasury on T-West. Not sure how the two treasuries work, as there are Treasury & Treasury West sections, but quite happy to get it and feature some lovely items some of which are made by other Jet team members.

Straining fingers

In the last few days I got to thinking that I somewhat was avoiding doing the kind of earrings I just adore, mainly because these types of design require sacrificing your fingers and your eyes and a lifetime of hours. Well, I took a plunge and for a few days straight disciplined myself enough to sit down and get some of them done.
Each silver part is handcrafted, put together, wired together, oxidized etc by my own hands. Terribly time consuming, especially with all those tiny 2mm-can-hardly-see-them-going-blind beads. No nails left after all that metal-working, but I'm pretty satisfied with the result. Here they are:
PS. I must have enjoyed doing them - I'm working on similarly complex designs in gold now :)

Valentines Special

Thought to run my first weekend promotion on Valentines. During this long weekend - from Friday 13th until the end of Sunday 15th (time differences allowed) if you purchase anything from my Etsy shop and your repurchase totals $100 or more (after the 10% discount below) you'll get one pair of the N a u g h t y H a l o earrings in your choice of colour. Just type 'Happy Valentines' in the notes to the seller at the checkout.
You can still get advantage of 10% off when you buy 2 items or more. After purchasing on Etsy and selecting method of payment as PayPal, please wait for a revised invoice before paying by PayPal. Please let me know which email to send the invoice to if different from that supplied by Etsy.

Here are the beauties you can get:

Walks & jewellery

I cannot believe how long it's been since my last post! I did spend the time rather well though :) There are plenty of walks on Arran and I'm taking full advantage of that so if I'm absent from Blogger, or Etsy, or Flickr, or Facebook you know I'm probably either at the beach or up a hill. That said, I've also been creating like mad in the last week or so and my head is still buzzing with lots of ideas, although my fingers are taking a strain. I've been posting some (quite a few) new items on Etsy and there are still plenty to come. Needless to say that the two tables that I have for jewellery making are completely covered in wires, beads, soldering equipment, polishing equipment, drilling equipment, oh yes, and did I mention beads? Lots of them. Here are a few pics:

SALE - NOW UNTIL 1ST FEBRUARY

For a short time only I'm having a SALE in my Etsy shop.
This is mainly to do with us having recently moved and me re-organising all my stock. So this is a unique opportunity to get some special handcrafted jewellery at a very special price.

Also, look out for lots of new items coming up in February and March.
