Feeling Seaside

It seems that I cannot not be inspired by the seaside. I love taking a stroll on a beach, finding starfish, interesting pebbles, waves and sand shaped pieces of glass ... watching tiny crabs hurrying sideways away from the view, mussels emerging as the tide comes in ... boats sailing, seals basking on the rocks ... and the colours of the sky and the sea merging at the horizon and the line of the distant mainland fading under the hazy light or the mist ...
These two treasuries have been inspired by the misty days we've recently has, when the light was soft, hazy, merging outlines and veiling over the islands.

Autumn Sonata IV... Red Woods

Things I love about Autumn...... deep, rich colours that the foliage turns before disappearing, but for a couple of months there is so much beautiful yellows, reds, varying hues of orange and the remaining greens. This treasury is focused on my favourite combination of deep reds and greens.

Rainy days, end of summer, autumn beginnings, endless inspiration

A lot of my inspiration comes from the surroundings. As it happens, it has been raining on the West Coast of Scotland for a VERY long time now, so long that I cannot remember when we've had the last sunny day. Yep, it's that bad. It's even worse as I love my walks & in this weather no amount of waterproofs will keep you dry for any length of time. Just as well we're beside the sea and on a hill - the water just gushes down gardens, gutters, pavements, roads and into the sea. All this rain also provides an immense amount of inspiration. Influences

Sometimes some people know exactly what they like and how they like it, but sometimes there are times when you do know what you like but it takes some time to gradually find a way to express it. The latter is more relevant to my adventures in jewellery making. Over the last few years there have been quite a few influences, and over time I plan to develop them into separate collections. All of them are expressions of what I like personally, so there are no favourites! However, there are a few major ones & I will attempt to introduce you to them personally.

Summer Skins

A song by Death Cab for Cutie got stuck in my head, & the thoughts of the coming summer keep looping in my head. The result? This treasury. The strong light of the sun, the colour of cherries and berries, the greens, the perfect weather for light dresses, the perfect mood for traveling, water warm enough to get into, oh, yeah, and the upcoming summer birthdays :D

Inspired by the days that are getting lighter, the weather that is getting warmer, the seaside outside my door and the flowers that are getting less and less shy.

New T-West

Just thought to let you know I made yet another treasury. It's been raining today & then it stopped for a bit and the sun shone though the clouds and it seemed like the day had decided to brighten up. So I got inspired and made this treasury:

New Treasury - Hello Today

This is the first time I got a treasury on T-West. Not sure how the two treasuries work, as there are Treasury & Treasury West sections, but quite happy to get it and feature some lovely items some of which are made by other Jet team members.

Misty - florals & jewellery

Was looking out to the hills & the sea this morning and decided to go with a 'misty' theme, then began thinking of spring and the flowers came up, then, for some unexplained reason, jewellery popped into my head ... ;) So here we go, not exactly sure where I'm going with this one, but hope you enjoy it.
