Advance warning

I will be away from approx. 19th May to 12th June, which means that I will not be able to post any orders placed during this time or answer your queries. While there will be someone to look after our place, since OV Gillies Designs is run by myself and I create and deal with all queries myself, there is no one to take over this bit. I appologise for any inconvenience in advance. If you would like to order anything, please make your orders up to the end of the 17th of May.

I woke up rather early today to get a T-west as I missed a slot before. Somehow, the earliness of the morning, the gradual lightening of the sky (and the foreboding approach of rain) made me reach for cosy colours and selection, for things I like or would love to have, like wellies and a brollie if it's going to rain, lavender smelling cute hearts in the wardrobe when I open it to get dressed, a broach pin to clip to my favourite bag, a Seamese cat, would love to find a whole sea urchin, a comfy dress in a colour that would make be feel bright, a bike ride if the weather's good, a cute necklace that is not too girly, a gorgeous tumbler filled with hot coffee, stunning wood piece I can get inspired just looking at, luxurious and natural bar of soap to have a morning shower with, a lovely pillow to lean on on the sofa while sipping my coffee and looking out of the window into the front garden and planning where to put all the plants this year, a tape to measure it all, and soft yarn just because I want to feel cosy..........:D

Purple

Just back from a great, long Easter weekend during which the weather behaved itself surprisingly well and we've had some really great time. I did miss treasuries (just a bit ;D) and was lucky to catch one today. A purple themed one has been on my mind for quite some time, as it's the favourite colour of both my mother and my mother-in-law. So, with the Mother's Day approaching in USA, it seems quite appropriate.

Holy Isle is really beatiful on a slightly misty day, or any day, cocooned between the sea and the sky - a constant inspiration. It is also a Buddist retreat, and for some reason the knowledge of this also brings a more accute sense of tranquility.

Front Page for Lucky Treasury

For the first time ever, a treasury I made has made to the Front Page of Etsy. Yey! It was one of those unexpected and totally welcome surprises of the day. Thank you Etsy! And thank you to all the talented artists and designers whose work I featured in my treasury - it's your work that deserved the feature!

No Bunnies

With Easter approaching fast, I just couldn't resist doing something on a theme, well, sort of. I'm really happy to see summer coming and plants burstring through the ground and flowers exploding all over the place. I'm getting into the whole full-on colour mode, lots of colour in my recent creations (which I will be posting soon) and lots of colour on my mind .
